MARCH 2014 LULU GUINNESS BIRCHBOX

this was yet another item i was lucky enough to receive in my #OXMEET goodie bag! i cannot begin to tell you how excited i was to open this, i've always wanted to try the various monthly beauty boxes that are available and this one is extra special as its the lulu guinness addition! in a birchbox you receive 5 luxe beauty samples and this is what was in mine.

this is a brand i've actually never heard of before and i'm not sure why as they sound amazing! they use all natural ingredients and their products contain no sls, no parabens and no gm ingredients. this polish claims to remove pollution from the skin, to add tone and revitalising radiance to the skin too. it also contain antioxidant-rich super fruits to help skin renewal and skin softening botanicals to help skins natural barrier function. along with all that good stuff, it also smells amazing, very fresh and fruity. i'm yet to try it, but will report back when i have.

benefit is another brand that i've never really gotten into, i didn't get on board during the whole box blush craze and still haven't since. but, that being said, eyeshadow primers are something i do love, so was happy to see this. this one seems slightly different from others that i've tried as it can be used under the eyes too, to help brighten the whole eye area. i think it's also very unique that it comes in two skin shades. i've only tried this once and it was very creamy and applied softly to the eyelids. i'll be giving it a proper trial run on a night out and will let you know how i get on with it.

i was very excited to see this little sample in the box! i've heard a few thing about this, but it's certainly my sort of thing, having oily skin i'm always on the hunt for anything to help combat it. this is designed to help  hide pores, absorb excess oil and mattify shine. it includes microspheres which deflect light, to make your skin look healthy. and it has tea tree in it for it's antibacterial properties. this is like an oily skinned gals dream! i am again yet to try this, too many products to try, so little time, but as soon as it gets warmer i will put it straight to the test.

korres is a brand that's talked about a lot in the blogging world and, yes, again, i've never tried anything from them! yet more things to add to my wishlist eh! anyway, this has almond oil, aloe, shea butter and provitamin B5 in it to help hydrate your skin and leave it feeling silky soft. there's no parabens, silicones or synthetics in this an the packaging is 100% recyclable, amazing! this smells lovely, very citrusy an fruity, very uplifting. i used this on the plane on my recent holiday to greece and it did an excellent job of keeping my skin moisturised.

ah, who doesn't love a good perfume sample? especially one that's in a spray bottle, rather than those ones that have a lid and spill everywhere! this beautiful smelling perfume has notes of rose geranium, white flowers, woody, spicy and musky notes. it all works very well together i must say. it's feminine but grown up at the same time, it reminds me of something else, but i can;t quite put my finger on it. i do really like it and it might become my new summer fragrance.

so that's everything that was in my wonderful lulu guinness birchbox! oh, and of course a stick of rock to munch on! after having the opportunity to be gifted one of these, i'm very tempted to sign up. its a brilliant way to try a variety of products and brands, without shelling out for the full size version, when your unsure weather you'll actually like it. its such a good idea and i think it's very reasonably priced too. have you tried birchox before or any of the other beauty boxes?
