REVLON | COLORSTAY SHADOWLINKS

i mentioned these fun little eye shadows back in my august favourites, i'm so impressed with them and have been wearing them non-stop. i'd never tried any eye shadows from revlon before, but when i swatched these in store, i was so impressed with one, how pigmented they were and two, the range of finishes and shades they had to offer. and i of course loved the fact that they link together so you can create your own little palette. its such a unique idea that i've never seen from a high street brand. i picked up the three most neautral shades they had, bone, sand and oyster.

this shade, bone, is a pretty standard neutral beige shade. i liked this in particular because it was matte and i like to apply a matte nude under any other eye shadow i wear.  i just think it creates a nice base to prevent any creasing and makes any colour you apply over the top that bit more vibrant and pigmented. i find it also makes the shadow last a lot longer too. plus, it's nice to always have a skin-tone or 'nothing' shade in your arsenal to blend different colours together or any harsh edges when creating a smoky eye.
this second shade, which is oyster, is more of a shimmery, or as revlon call it, a metallic shade. it  is again quite a pale beige shade, but with small flecks of silver and beige glitter in it. i really liked the look of this for an inner corner and brow bone highlight. it also adds a little something to an everyday make up look when swept all over the lid. it's such a pretty subtle glitter that doesn't end up all over your face.
lastly is sand, which is a slightly more orangey, rusty toned neutral. i was drawn to this as i don't really have anything like it in my collection. this is again a very subtle glitter with a very slight frosty finish. this has actually turned out to be my favourite of the three. it adds a slight warmth to the eyes and is a particularly beautiful autumnal colour.

overall these are really fantastic eye shadows, with unique, practical packaging and a bargain price tag. these three colours work so well together, or on their own. they're such fantastic quality, they don't crease, there's no fall-down and they last all day. they're also tiny, so would be excellent for travelling, particularly as you can create your own palette! plus there's a finish and a colour to suit everyone's taste. i'm definitely going to invest in the taupe and cocoa shade from the range. have you tried these eye shadows? do you have any revlon recommendations?
